Our New Music Director Search Begins

The Richmond Symphony kicks off the 2008 – 2009 season with the search for a new music director. Our 51st season marks the end of a monumental ten years with our current music director, Mark Russell Smith, and the opportunity for the city of Richmond to be a part of history in choosing the symphony’s next leader.

This season will introduce six guest conductors who are part of the nine internationally-recognized finalists in the search. Meet all the maestros and enter for your chance to see them in action along with fantastic soloists and exciting repertoire choices. Be a part of this important milestone — the naming of the orchestra’s fifth leader since its beginning in 1957.
